From first login to your first shortlist
8 steps, about 45 minutes. Work at your own pace. Each one leaves something real in your account.
Before you begin
You need an Avyn account and a work email connected to Google or Microsoft. If you do not have access yet, request it from the main site.
Setup2 steps · 9 min
Get the account ready so everything after this has data to work with.
1Connect email and calendarAvyn reads who you already talk to, which is what makes warm paths possible later.5 min
Settings › Account › Integrations
What you will do
- Open Integrations and choose Google or Microsoft.
- Grant access to mail and calendar when the provider asks.
- Wait for the first sync to finish. It runs in the background.
You will know it worked when
Your integrations page shows a connected mailbox with a recent sync time, and people you have emailed begin appearing under Connections.
2Invite your teamThe relationship graph gets stronger with every colleague who joins.4 min
Settings › Organisation
Before you start. You need admin rights on the workspace.
What you will do
- Add colleagues by their work email address.
- Ask each of them to connect their own mailbox once they accept.
You will know it worked when
Colleagues appear in organisation settings. Warm paths begin showing routes through their relationships as well as your own.
Foundation3 steps · 21 min
The core loop: say what you are looking for, read what comes back, act on it.
3Write your first thesisPlain language works better than keywords. Describe the company you want to meet.8 min
Thesis › Approach
What you will do
- Describe the company you want to meet in your own words.
- Name the customer, the problem, and the stage you invest at.
- Save it, then give the first pass a few minutes to run.
You will know it worked when
A saved thesis with a ranked shortlist against it. Every company on the list carries a fit score you can open.
4Read a fit scoreWhat the number means, what moves it, and when to distrust it.6 min
Thesis › Scoring
Before you start. Finish step 3 first. There is nothing to read without a thesis.
What you will do
- Open the top-ranked company on your shortlist.
- Read the reasoning behind the score, not just the number.
- Compare it against one lower-ranked company to calibrate.
You will know it worked when
You can state why the top result ranked where it did, and you know which companies were scored on thin evidence.
5Build your first listCollect the companies worth a second look and give them a stage.7 min
Lists
What you will do
- Create a list and name it after the job it does, not the quarter.
- Add the companies from your shortlist worth a second look.
- Set a stage on each so the list reflects where things actually are.
You will know it worked when
A working list you would be content to open in a Monday pipeline meeting.
Going deeper3 steps · 15 min
Optional on day one. Come back when the basics feel comfortable.
6Review stagesHow a company moves through your process, and what moves automatically.5 min

What you will do
- Review the stages your firm already uses.
- Check which transitions happen automatically and which need a person.
You will know it worked when
Your stages match how the firm actually works, and you know which transitions happen without a person.
7Find a warm introductionWho in your network can make the intro, and how strong that path is.5 min
Connections
Before you start. Needs step 1. Warm paths are built from connected mailboxes.
What you will do

Settings › Organisation › CRM integration
Before you start. Admin only. Watch a read-only sync before enabling writeback.
What you will do
- Connect the CRM your firm already uses.
- Map your stages onto the ones Avyn tracks.
